Ryan Maxwell Luzak
Biography
Ryan has over 25 years of experience serving as a strategic advisor to executive-level leaders in a wide variety of public, private, and military organizations. He has led the design and delivery of solutions in the areas of strategy consulting, change leadership, organizational analysis, and strategic human capital management. He served on active duty in the U.S. Navy, where he earned multiple commendations for sustained superior performance in overseas combat zones. He worked for 20 years as a management consultant, and he is currently the Chief of Staff to the Chief People Officer at Sentara Health, one of the largest not-for-profit integrated health systems in the country, with over 300 locations, 33,000 employees, and annual net revenue of $13B. He earned a B.S. (with honors) at the U.S. Naval Academy, an MBA at the College of William and Mary, and he is a Doctoral candidate in the field of Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He has earned certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), a Senior Certified Practitioner in HR Management (SHRM-SCP), and a Master Human Capital Strategist (MHCS). In addition, he is certified as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) instructor, and he earned post-graduate certification as a Change Management Advanced Practitioner (CMAP) from Georgetown University. He works as an executive coach at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and he has been a guest lecturer at the Fox School of Business at Temple University, the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, and the T.H. Chan School of Public Health at Harvard University on the topics of leadership, change management, motivation, negotiation, and teamwork.
