Biography
Dr. Norma Lopez is a board-certified family physician and former Chief Medical Officer/Chief Medical Informatics Officer of the Lynn Community Health Center, and has practiced family medicine in community health centers for nearly two decades. She earned her Master of Medical Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University, and has worked to improve patient care and outcomes through the use of health information technology. She is currently practicing addiction medicine, and is the principal consultant of Physician to Physician EHR Strategies.
As a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Dr. Lopez helped to develop the application standards for the Davies Community Health Organization Award, and is a Board member of HIMSS Latino Community Advisory Group. She was an advisor and contributor to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) 2008 and 2011 EHR Selection Guidelines for Health Centers. In addition, Dr. Lopez assisted the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers with the startup of the Community Health Information Association (CHIA), and is vice-chair of the Physician AdHoc Committee for the Massachusetts eHealth Initiative Regional Extension Center.
