Biography
Fred Khoshbin is the Chief of the Office of Project Management for construction at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), NIH. He is a registered architect with over 30 years of private sector and government experience in high containment laboratory and healthcare design. Fred was the program officer for the design and construction of biocontainment level 4 and 3 laboratory facilities at NIAID, and is technical reviewer for upcoming facilities. He managed an international team that provided biocontainment laboratories programming, design and construction technical assistance to India, UK, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Nigeria . Prior to NCI and NIAID he was the chief of the NIH’s In-house design group and has been instrumental in the conceptual planning of many of the NIH’s new facilities.
He is a contributor to the NIH Design Review Manual and the BMBL (5th edition) and a visiting faculty for bio-containment design at Harvard School of Public Health.
