Biography
Fawn Phelps is in her 14th year as an Instructor and the Director of Leadership Development at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She oversees the leadership development programing for the Harvard Chan mid-career DrPH program. Phelps also directs a year-long, co-curricular leadership development training program open to any Harvard Chan student.
Prior to Harvard Chan, Phelps had a 15-year career in federal and state legislative and policy advocacy roles focused on the well-being of low-income and marginalized populations. She joined Harvard after 7 years at Health Care For All where she served as Policy Director, Interim-Executive Director, and manager of the coalition backing Massachusetts’ 2006 health reform. Previously, Ms. Phelps served as the Director of Public Affairs at Easter Seals MA, a lobbyist for the Human Rights Campaign, and an aide to U.S. Senator Ron Wyden. She has a BA from Wesleyan University and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School with a concentration in advanced leadership development.
