Dr. Fitzmaurice has research interests in a number of areas, including the development of statistical methodology for analyzing discrete multivariate data, the design and analysis of longitudinal and repeated measures studies, methods for handling missing data, and methods for detecting and adjusting for overdispersion. With colleagues Nan Laird and Jim Ware, he recently published a book on “Applied Longitudinal Analysis”. Dr. Fitzmaurice has also developed a strong interest in collaborative research in mental health, working with investigators at McLean Hospital. Fleming, completed her undergraduate degree at Xavier University of Louisiana, medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Meharry Medical College. Due to her interests in eradicating health inequities and improving healthcare for the underserved, she matriculated to Harvard Medical School as a Commonwealth Fellow in Minority Health Policy where she obtained a MPH. Steven D. Freedman M.D., Ph.D. is Director of the Pancreas Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Chief of the Division of Translational Research, and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts. Prof. Fregni is a Professor of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Professor of PM&R at Harvard Medical School. He leads a large clinical research laboratory (Spaulding Neuromodulation Center) that is funded by major NIH grants that are currently investigating techniques to guide and measure neuroplasticity in brain injury. He has been at the forefront of advancing neurorehabilitation science to treat conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and chronic pain. Kristin Garland, CIH has been providing safety consulting services for over 20 years. After obtaining her B.S. in biotechnology from WPI, she spent 7 years working in development research at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, ME and Curis, Inc. (FKA Ontogeny) in Cambridge, MA where she developed a deep understanding of the biotechnology industry. Kristin leveraged this knowledge and provided safety consulting services to local companies in the biotech space while becoming ABIH-certified as an industrial hygienist (CIH) during this time. Dr. Gassert’s current interests are twofold: international training in basic and specialized occupational and environmental health (OEH) services in alignment with the UN 2030 SDGs and ILO Conventions 155, 187 and 161, and climate change resilience for planetary health, using tools and roadmaps for both. He is focused on ways to help mitigate what he sees as the five global OEH crises: occupational diseases and deaths, climate change impacts, pandemics, nuclear and armed conflicts, and unethical use of artificial intelligence.
