Dr. Marcus’ 30-year career at Harvard University has followed two tracks.The first is leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution for health care and public health. He is founding Director of the Initiative for Health Care Negotiation and Conflict Resolution at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Marcus is lead author of Renegotiating Health Care: Resolving Conflict to Build Collaboration (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass Publishers, 1995 and in its Second Edition, 2011). Mr. Martel is a board certified health physicist, and has been working in the field of radiation protection for over 25 years. Mr. Martel has applied health physics and radiation safety management experience in medical, biotechnology, nuclear power, environmental, emergency response, and radioactive source manufacturing industries. Mr. Martel serves as a technical advisor to the Council for Radiation Control Program Directors, and is currently the President-elect of the Medical Health Physics section of the National Health Physics Society. Dr. Heather Mattie is a Lecturer on Biostatistics, Co-Director of the Health Data Science Master’s program, and Director of EDIB Programs in the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She teaches several Data Science and Biostatistics courses each year including Core Principles of Data Science, Collaborative Data Science in Healthcare, and Core Principles of Biostatistics and Epidemiology for Public Health Practice. Bill McCarthy is an Associate Director of Environment, Health and Safety at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His primary responsibility is oversight of the radiation protection program at the MIT research reactor. Bill has been at MIT since 1997, conducting radiation safety trainings and assisting lab personnel in the design of safe experiments using radiation sources, both ionizing and non-ionizing. Gina McCarthy is Professor of the Practice of Public Health in the Department of Environmental Health at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and the Director of the Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment. In this capacity, she leads the development of the School's strategy in climate science, health, and sustainability; strengthens the climate science and health curriculum; and liaises with climate science leaders across the University. James J. McDevitt received his master's degree in Industrial Hygiene and PhD in Environmental Health Sciences from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore Maryland and completed a 3 year post-doctoral fellowship in Environmental Health Sciences at the Harvard School of Public Health. He is diplomat of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. He has over 10 years of experience practicing industrial hygiene as an active duty member of the United States Air Force and in private consulting. He is currently a senior scientist at 9 Foundations.
