To kick off Alumni Weekend 2024, Climate Resilience in Action: Public Health Solutions for a Changing World, join us for a virtual panel titled What Surrounds Us, Shapes Us: How Climate Change is Affecting Developmental Environments.

This panel will explore the ways that environmental changes can affect child health, learning outcomes, and overall well-being; break down how factors like extreme heat, air pollution, natural disasters, food and water insecurity, and stress can disrupt childhood development at critical stages; outline the latest science on the aforementioned risks and how climate change may exacerbate existing social and economic inequities that influence childhood; and identify strategies for building child resilience in the face of a changing climate.

ⓘ Harvard Chan School hosts a diverse array of speakers, invited to share both scholarly research and personal perspectives. They do not speak for the School, and hosting them does not imply endorsement of their views, organizations, or employers.
