Loneliness at 30,000 Feet: Social Disconnection and Occupational Health in the Harvard Flight Attendant Health Study

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to 1) discuss the impact of social disconnection on health, 2) explain the concept of emotional labor, and 3) describe risk factors for loneliness among flight attendants.

 

Factors Associated with Prescription Stimulant Use for Fatigue Mitigation in Military Aviation

Presenter: Jacob Berry, MD, MPH, Second-year resident in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Department of Environmental Health, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health

Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to 1) discuss the military deployed environment where stimulant medications are used, 2) describe the expectations for aviators using stimulant medications, 3) describe the reporting processes for aviators using stimulant medications, and 4) discuss factors which may affect the decisions by individuals to use stimulants while flying.
