Inside OSHA’s 2024 Proposed Heat Standards: Gains, Setbacks, and Future Directions
Presenter: Barrak Alahmad, MD, MPH, PhD, Research Fellow, Department of Environmental Health Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health
Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to 1) list the health impacts of hazardous heat on workers; 2) describe the core components of heat exposure assessment; 3) discuss the 2024 OSHA proposed heat standards; 4) explain the limitations of the proposed heat rule; and to 5) discuss the role of technology in mitigation of heat in the workplace.
Note: Dr. Alahmad will be presenting remotely, but we will gather in person in Kresge 502 as usual.
