First day of the 2024 Summer Program!

The Department welcomed the 2024 cohort of the Summer Program in Biostatistics and Computational Biology this morning! Dr. Heather Mattie kicked off the program with Welcome Remarks and the students also had an opportunity to hear from Dr. John Quackenbush.

Eight undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students will spend the next 6 weeks participating in classes such as biostatistics, programming, health data science and computational biology. Students will also have the opportunity to engage with the biostatistics community during faculty seminars and professional development workshops. During the 6 weeks, summer program participants will work in groups on a research project alongside Harvard faculty and graduate student mentors. Students will present their work at “Pipelines Into Public Health”, the culminating symposium on July 11th.

Learn more about this diverse group of participants including their educational backgrounds, goals for the program, and plans for the future.
