Marc Spaulding has successfully helped senior teams identify and implement innovative solutions to mission-critical challenges for more than 20 years. Along with his unique combination of capabilities in organizational assessment, organizational development, and Applied Behavioral Science (ABS), he possesses a strong track record of business acumen, project management, and service.

Marc’s clients comprise a wide variety of organizations, businesses, and industries, including global and national firms in oil/gas, energy, manufacturing, aerospace, bio-tech, government, financial services, healthcare, insurance, and pharmaceuticals. His in-depth knowledge of organizational development serves as the foundation for his areas of expertise, which include:

Throughout his career, Marc has garnered experience in organizational development, leadership, employee development, and change management projects. He has advised U.S. and international clients on strategic issues involving human resource alignment, employee development and training, and business process improvement. In addition, he is well-versed in the design and delivery of organizational assessments and development initiatives for leadership, management, and workforce education.

Some of Marc’s accomplishments include:

  • Using behavior-based coaching methods to improve performance metrics in safety and process efficiency in operating plants and field operations in the oil and gas industry
  • Increasing employee satisfaction by 25–35% at area hospitals through the delivery of custom leadership and accountability training
  • Coaching managers and front-line supervisors in behavior-based performance management, schedule attainment, and safety techniques during an intensive two-month maintenance turnaround at a major Canadian oil producer
  • Facilitating an international team to redesign a company-wide Level Two financial audit process for a global financial services firm, ensuring compliance with Federal Regulatory requirements
  • Designing and delivering start-up training to a senior-level cross-functional project team for a global joint-venture between internationally recognized software and hardware firms—the resulting change plan reduced project start-up time by over 50%
  • Designing and implementing quality training and process improvement methods for managers in the operating group at global battery manufacturing firm—cost reductions reported to exceed 10%

As founder and president of a leadership development firm, Marc delivers state-of-the-art solutions in organizational assessment, data-driven business planning, workshop and team facilitation, leadership development, organizational design/development, and business improvement. As an entrepreneur, he’s also responsible for sales, marketing, proposal writing, client relations, customer service and satisfaction, staff recruitment and management, and project administration.

Education and Background

Marc earned his Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from Bowling Green State University. He has attended The Deming Seminar on Total Quality and Statistical Process Control and is currently working on certification in using the Bar-On EQI.

Marc has taught graduate-level courses in Organizational Analysis and Organizational Change to master’s and Ph.D. students in the Graduate Human Resources Education Program at Boston University. Currently he is teaching Project Management courses for the master’s program at Granite State College in New Hampshire. His favorite assignment was teaching at the University of Guam, where he served as Director for a Health and Human Services grant to train healthcare professionals in Micronesia.
