Britney Scott, MD
Biography
Dr. Britney Scott, an expert at the intersection of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and process improvement, has devoted her life to advancing healthcare equity and inclusivity. She aligns these humanitarian goals with overarching business objectives to foster meaningful change within the industry. One of very few in this niche space, Dr. Scott holds a BS in Biology from Oakwood University, an MD from Howard University College of Medicine, a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma from IASSC, a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion through the HRCI, and a certificate in Women’s Entrepreneurship from Cornell.
As CEO of The Clinic Doctor, her own Healthcare DEI Process Improvement Firm, Dr. Scott with the assistance of her employees and contractors, helps health system executive teams save on labor costs and get better health outcomes by implementing strategies that use science to increase staff engagement. Still, her dedication to designing more equitable and inclusive systems in healthcare continues far outside the bounds of her own company. She serves as Strategic Advisor for the Alliance for Clinicians Equity, a nonprofit focused on helping minority physicians through the medical pipeline, and senior DEI advisor at Renaye James Healthcare Associates, a healthcare advisory firm. Additionally, her expertise is sought after in governance, where she contributes to Your Community Board, a healthcare advisory board, as a member of their Board of Directors.
Dr. Scott's voice echoes across various media as the host of "The DEI Disrupters" podcast, where she brings together the most positively-disruptive voices in the DEI space and allows them to tell their stories. Her guests include executive DEI leaders from Best Buy, Wells Fargo, Southwest, 3M, PepsiAmericas, The City of Buffalo, and so much more. She is also a worldwide speaker with engagements spanning from Rwanda at the University of Global Health Equity or at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Still, regardless of the setting, Dr. Scott’s message and her commitment to inclusive and equitable healthcare improvement for both the patients and employees alike remains the same.
