Zhu Family Center for Cancer Prevention

At the interdisciplinary Zhu Family Center for Global Cancer Prevention, our mission is to support groundbreaking research that develops and implements novel methods, technologies, and tools to further the translation of cancer prevention work into clinical and public health practice. We are dedicated to prevention education and research across the cancer continuum.

Cancer Prevention Research Award

The Zhu Family Center Cancer Prevention Research Award (CaPRA) provides funding to support trainee research projects in the field of global cancer prevention and early detection. Applications open May 2025.

Amount and Duration of Award: Up to $5000 direct costs (no indirect costs allowed, funds are restricted to research costs). Funds must be spent within two years of award, prior to dissertation defense, or completion of training program, whichever comes first.

Eligibility: This opportunity is for individuals who are either funded through an affiliated T32 program (TOPS, Cancer Epidemiology, Cancer Prevention) or are the primary mentee of a Zhu Senior Scholar. Trainees can include:

1. PhD candidates enrolled in a Harvard graduate program, or
2. Clinical residents or fellows in a Harvard-affiliated residency or fellowship program, or
3. Post doctoral fellows in a Harvard-affiliated program.
