Hiring Research Assistants

Position Description
The Center is seeking two paid, part-time (10-15 hours a week), Research Assistants (RAs) to begin as soon as possible, through the 2026 spring semester, with the possibility of extension. Please note that only current Harvard graduate students are eligible. The RAs should have a primary interest that aligns with the Center’s mission to build a rigorous and interdisciplinary science of positive health, happiness, and well-being with a focus on health equity, and to translate the science to influence practice and policy. These will be hybrid positions.
Duties may include:
- Conducting literature reviews
- Performing preliminary data analyses
- Drafting reports, knowledge translation briefs, and PowerPoint presentations
- Assisting in the development of repositories for measures and evidence-based interventions
One RA role will include identifying and evaluating evidence-based measures of community and individual wellness. The results of this work will be disseminated on the Center’s website, in a written report, and possibly in seminars, workshops, or other presentation formats. The candidate will be supervised by Assistant Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences Dr. Christy Denckla and can expect training and mentoring in measurement, psychometrics, conducting literature reviews, and writing reports.
Qualifications
- Current Harvard graduate student (doctoral level preferred)
- Proficiency with Excel and SPSS, SAS or R
- Knowledge of survey and longitudinal data analyses
- Experience with literature reviews
- Understanding of the interplay between mental, social, and physical health
- Experience working with community partners is preferred
