19th Annual Stare-Hegsted Lecture

This Lecture is meant to honor Drs Fredrick Stare and Mark Hegsted, who were the founders of our Department of Nutrition in 1942, which was the first department of nutrition in any medical center or school of public health in the U.S. This year’s distinguished speaker will be David J A Jenkins, MD, PhD, DSc, Professor of Departments of Nutritional Sciences and Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. His talk title is “Glycemic Index, Carbohydrate Quality, and Metabolic Health: A Four-Decade Journey”. The Stare-Hegsted Lecture begins at 4:00 pm in Kresge G2, and will be followed by a reception in the Kresge Atrium. Free and open to the public.
