Policies\, programs\, and practices shaping quality access”) and Dr. Mingyu Zhang (“Seconds count: Lasting impacts of early-life pollutants on pediatric hypertension”). These monthly seminars are an opportunity to learn about the diverse research conducted by our Center members. \n\n\nThis seminar will be held in HSPH Building 1\, 1302 and via Zoom. For more info and Zoom link>> \n\n\nAbout the Speakers:   \n\n\nAngie Cradock\, ScD\, MS\, is Deputy Director at the Prevention Research Center on Nutrition and Physical Activity and a Principal Research Scientist at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Cradock’s research primarily focuses on the social\, policy\, and environmental factors associated with physical activity and nutrition behaviors among youth. Specific areas of interest include school and neighborhood environments\, community-based intervention research\, and policy research. She holds a Doctor of Science degree from the Harvard Chan School of Public Health. \n\n\nMingyu Zhang\, PhD\, MHS\, is an epidemiologist and faculty member in the Department of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center\, Harvard Medical School. The primary goal of his research program is to understand how environmental exposures shape disease risks and impact cardiometabolic health across the life course. Previously\, Dr. Zhang worked as a Research Fellow in the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and\, prior to that\, as a Biostatistician at the Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Data Analysis Center at Johns Hopkins University. Visit hsph.me/NIEHS-Mustapha for more information and the Zoom link. \n\n\nAdetoun Mustapha\, PhD\, MPH\, ISEEF\, is a leading Environmental Epidemiologist in Africa. Her research is focused on air pollution\, social determinants of health\, plastic pollution\, climate change and ethics. Her about 30 years’ career spans industry\, academia and research. She is an adjunct Associate Professor of Environmental Epidemiology at the Lead City University\, Nigeria and an adjunct Researcher at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR). She has been the Principal Investigator/Co-Principal Investigator in various impactful projects including the Population-Based Interventions towards Reducing the burden of Hypertension in Nigeria (PoBIRH)\, the Lagos Air Quality Monitoring Program and the Nigerian Environmental Epidemiology Accelerated Research (NEEAR) Program. She has been an expert reviewer and member of various international groups such as The Lancet Commission on Pollution and Health\, The Minderoo-Monaco Commission on Plastics and Human Health\, and WHO Personal Interventions and Risk Communication on Air Pollution. She is a Fellow of the Collegium Ramazzini\, Fellow of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE)\, the inaugural chair of ISEE Africa chapter and past Councillor for Africa in the ISEE Council. Jill Johnston\, PhD\, Associate Professor of Environmental Health and Spatial Sciences\, will deliver a lecture entitled Community-Driven Research on Environmental Injustice\, Energy\, and Health in Southern California. \n\n\n\nDr. Jill Johnston is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California in the Division of Environmental Health\, Department of Population and Public Health Sciences of the Keck School of Medicine of USC and the USC Spatial Sciences Institute. She also serves as Director of Community Engagement in the Division of Environmental Health at University of Southern California. \n\n\nBroadly\, her research focuses on addressing unequal exposures to harmful contaminants that affect the health of working poor and communities of color. Dr. Johnston previously worked as a community organizer on issues of environmental and economic justice in South Texas. Currently\, she engages in collaborations with grassroots organizations to conduct community-engaged action-oriented research at USC to support environmental justice. \n\n\nDr. Johnston received her Ph.D. in environmental sciences and engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill\, where she studied hazardous waste sites and industrial animal production. \n\n\nThis seminar will be held in HSPH Building 1\, 1302 and via Zoom.
