Biography
Robert C. Goldszer is Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President for Education and Research at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Florida. His focus is on quality of patient care, patient satisfaction, education, innovative research, and financial success of the medical center.
From 1979- 2008 Dr Goldszer was a full time faculty member at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston where he was responsible for such programs as standing orders for vaccines, pneumonia care improvement, and improving information at transitions of care. As Associate Chief Medical Officer, Dr Goldszer lead many of Brigham and Women’s utilization management programs to decrease unnecessary expenses for printing of reports, medications, blood bank, and new products acquisitions. He was the physician executive sponsor for the electronic medical record and the computerized discharge summary, both implemented in July 2000.
Dr. Goldszer holds an appointment as Clinical Professor of Medicine at Florida International University College of Medicine and voluntary Professor at Miller University of Miami School of Medicine. He is an Assistant Dean for clinical affairs at FIU Wertheim School of Medicine. He earned a B.A. in history from the University of Wisconsin, received his medical degree and internal medicine residency from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, and completed his renal fellowship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in 1982. In June 1999, he received his MBA from Boston University’s Executive MBA Program, and was elected to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society for Business Students.
