Michael Erdil MD, FACOEM. Assistant Clinical Professor for UConn Health, Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Medical Advisor and Educator at UConn DOEM for RETAIN-CT (funded by U.S. Dept. of Labor, ODEP, ETA and SSA). Activity Director for UConn DOEM OM Colloquium Series. Occupational medicine physician with Occupational and Environmental Health Network in Marlborough MA.  Contributor to evidence-based guidelines and evidence reviews or recommendations (AHCPR LBP 1994, ACOEM OMPG 1st ed 1997; ODG multiple ed; UpToDate Occupational LBP 2017-date; DynaMed Plus Chronic LBP 2018-date). Co-author of Cumulative Trauma Disorders of the Upper Extremity, and Biomechanics of Manual Material Handling and Low Back Pain for Zenz’ Occupational Medicine Mosby 1994. Co-editor Cumulative Trauma Disorders: Prevention, Evaluation, and Treatment Van Nostrand Reinhold 1997. Contributor to Health effects preamble to Proposed OSHA Ergonomic Protection Standard 1990s. Co-author of Medications and RTW for American Medical Association A Physician’s Guide to Return to Work: How and Why, 1st edition 2005. Co-author of The Opioid Crisis and Connecticut’s Workforce White Paper with the CT Dept. of Public Health, 2019. Member of ACOEM UR Task Force and coauthor of ACOEM Position Paper 2017 and ACOEM The Eight Ethical Values and Principles of Utilization Review 2019. Member of ACOEM Team 2019 to rewrite “Preventing Needless Work Disability By Helping People Stay Employed.” Recipient of the NECOEM Harriett Hardy Award 2016 presented annually to an individual who exemplifies and advances the highest ideals of occupational and environmental medicine.
