Biography
Jay Gentile has been working with Liberty Mutual for 5 years and is currently the lead project manager for the Liberty Mutual Home Office Expansion Project. Major components of this project are; 157 Berkeley Street (now incorporating 330 Stuart Street), the pedestrian bridge over Stuart Street, the Liberty Conference Center, and the Open Space on St. James Avenue.
This major project in the heart of Back Bay began early in 2009 following the purchase of The Salvation Army and Ben Franklin Smith Buildings. Along with all aspects of design and construction he has led the effort for Liberty Mutual on site acquisition, due diligence, development, rezoning, approvals (City & State), neighborhood and city acceptance, public relations by managing and coordinating the team of architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants.
Mr. Gentile is a registered architect, and graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA and BArch. Working for SOM-Chicago, Continental Bank, Jameel SA, BankBoston and Liberty Mutual,
his 40 years of design and construction experience has been concentrated in the financial sector, much of it overseas with projects in 25 different countries in Western Europe, Asia, and South America. This includes 3 projects recently completed in Venezuela in 2012 for Seguros Caracas de Liberty Mutual, and Torre BankBoston in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2000.
Mr. Gentile is an Associate Member of the Urban Land Institute.
