Biography

Jennifer M. Sprague worked as a Policy Advisor for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and NOAA Administrator in 2005 and most recently as a Policy Analyst in the National Weather Service (NWS) Office of Strategic Planning and Policy since 2007, working on agency-level policy matters (including private sector relations). In 2008, she was named the Social Science Focal Point for NWS. Since that time, Ms. Sprague has worked towards integrating the social sciences into NWS products and services, including the economic valuation of its products and the effective communication of risk and uncertainty. Jennifer Sprague has a Juris Doctorate from American University’s College of Law in 2002 and a Masters in International Affairs from American University in 2003.
