Howard Hu, ScD, MD, MPH

Biography

Dr. Hu earned a BS degree from Brown University, an MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and an MPH (occupational health), MS, and ScD (epidemiology) from the Harvard School of Public Health. He completed residencies in internal medicine and occupational medicine at Boston City Hospital and Harvard University, and is board-certified in both.

Dr. Hu teaches the academic course "Introduction to Occupational and Environmental Medicine" at Harvard, and also lectures in courses on toxicology and epidemiology. His primary research is in environmental epidemiology, studying the chronic toxic effects of accumulated metals exposure using newly developed biological markers of accumulated exposure. Dr. Hu is also a consulting occupational/environmental physician at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Olympus Specialty Hospital, and is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
