Biography
Don Osterberg currently serves as Senior Vice President of Safety, Security, & Driver Training for Schneider National, Inc. Previously, Don served as President and General Manager of Schneider Specialized Carriers, Inc. (Schneider’s Flatbed and Specialty Transportation Division).
In addition to his duties at Schneider National, Don currently serves as the Chairman of the American Trucking Association’s Safety Policy Committee and also chairs the Research Advisory Committee of the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI).
Don is a member of the Trucking Industry Committee of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) and serves on FMCSA’s Advisory Committee for Intelligent Transportation. In March 2008, Heavy Duty Trucking magazine recognized Osterberg as one of their Fleet Innovator of the Year. Prior to joining Schneider National, Inc., Don served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for a subsidiary of WATSCO, Inc., the nation’s largest distributor of HVAC products.
Don is a Wisconsin native. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin—La Crosse, and a Master’s of Science degree from the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College. Don served as an Infantry officer in the U.S. Army, retiring at the rank of Colonel. Don, his wife Terri and son Wade currently live in Freedom, WI.
