Biography
David Crosby has been active in the air filtration and respirator industry for over fifty years. He started with Air Techniques International (ATI) in 1962 and retired at the end of 2010. ATI has elected to retain him as a consultant and continues to support his membership and attendance in the various professional organizations he belongs to. He has managed and been involved with design, engineering, quality control, and government contract administration. He holds degrees in electronics, heating- air conditioning- refrigeration, and business management.
Dave is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST), and the Controlled Environment Testing Association (CETA). He has served on the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Z88.10 Sub-Committee and is currently serving on the IEST Recommended Practices Work Group Committees 001, 006, 007, 019, and chairs 013. He is a charter member of the International Society of Nuclear Air Treatment Technologies (ISNATT), and the ASME AG-1 Committee on Nuclear Air and Gas Treatment (CONAGT). Dave has served several terms on the Board of Directors of both ISNATT and CETA.
Mr. Crosby was involved in the design of the first portable aerosol photometer and holds several patents on photometers, is a contributing author to various trade publications, and has written and presented many technical papers. He also lectures on HEPA filtration theory, aerosol generators and aerosol photometers for the Harvard University School of Public Health, and various other technical and trade organizations.
Dave is an IEST Fellow, and the proud recipient of the IEST Willis J. Whitfield and Robert L. Mielke awards. He is also honored to have received from the CETA organization, the prestigious Mel First award.
