Cynthia S. Gavin, PMP, MS

Biography

Ms. Gavin is a Senior Research Scientist for Battelle, a not-for-profit organization focused on bettering the national through science. In her duties with Battelle, Ms. Gavin has performed management and program analyst duties for several clients related to the United State’s war on terror. Specifically, she has managed projects for the United States Secret Service, Department of Defense (DOD)–US Army and Air Force, as well as the City of New York Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and Office of Chief Medical Examiner. Ms. Gavin is considered a national expert for her work related to chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high-yield explosive (CBRNE) incidents, specifically with regard to the safe management of contaminated decedents. She has developed strategic recommendations, helped formulate national policy and written improved response plans for both civilian and military jurisdictions and is the author of several disaster preparedness documents.
