SUMMARY:Are we already FAIR? – The future of data sharing
DESCRIPTION:Home / Events\n\n\n\n\n\n\n40 Years of the Health Professionals Follow-Up Study\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n Hide caption\n \n	\n	\n \n \n Show caption\n \n	\n\n\n	HPFS researchers gather outside of Harvard School of Public Health.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTime \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Type \n\n\n\n	Lectures/Seminars/Forums\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n Register Today	\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n‘Data sharing’ is becoming increasingly important in terms of efficient use of resources. In 2007\, the OECD called for easy access to research data for the scientific community. In 2016\, the FAIR principles (findable\, accessible\, interoperable\, reusable) for research data were published. In 2018\, the German government decided to establish a National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) where NFDI4Health takes responsibility for personal health data. This talk will present the infrastructures that have been realized so far and discuss potential (statistical) hurdles by giving illustrative examples. Further European developments such as the European Health Data Space will be addressed. \n\n\n\nProf. Dr. Iris Pigeot is Full Professor for “Statistics focussed on Biometry and Methods in Epidemiology” at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Bremen\, Germany; Director of the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology – BIPS; Head of the Department of “Biometry and Data Management” of the BIPS. \n\n\n\n\n\nSpeaker Information\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n\n	\n \n Iris Pigeot\, \n Professor\, University of Bremen\, Germany\n \n \n \n	\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrganizers\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDepartment of Epidemiology\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n Unleash your potential at Harvard Chan School. \n In addition to our degree programs\, we offer highly targeted programs through our Advanced Learning Academy\, directed and taught by Harvard faculty. \n \n \n \n Degree Programs \n \n \n \n How to Apply \n \n \n \n Advanced Learning Academy
