Some of America’s most complex health care problems, such as access to care and high costs, can be addressed through relatively simple solutions, said Atul Gawande during a recent interview with the podcast Freakonomics. Gawande, executive director of Ariadne Labs and professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, outlined the increasing complexity of the health system in the United States and explained how major gains can be made by reducing basic medical errors.
